I’ve had too much fun watching the antics of Cedric the Entertainer to write him off just yet, but after seeing Code Name: The Cleaner, which is now out on DVD, I’m tempted to do just that.

I can forgive him for trying to cash in on his current popularity but I don’t think he has to take every movie that comes his way.

And I think that he saw the paycheck on this one and decided “What could it hurt to do this?”

Well Cedric, it could hurt a lot. You were brilliant in The Barbershop movies but you’ve been going downhill every since. You need another solid performance like in The Honeymooners…or some more inspired voiceover work like in Charlotte’s Web.

But Code Name: The Cleaner is just a waste of your time and ours. You could have a solid future in films. But if you keep making garbage like this, you’ll be making straight-to-video stuff before you know it.

For those who are interested, Code Name: The Cleaner is sort of a comedy about undercover agents and a secret microchip. But I suggest you let this one sit on the shelf.
