Is it too early to start raving about Abigail Breslin?

That’s the charming and clever young girl who stole our hearts in Little Miss Sunshine and who does the same in the romantic comedy Definitely, Maybe, now on DVD.

Just shy of twelve years old, Miss Breslin, who has already earned an Academy Award nomination and is bringing in seven figures annually, is an absolute delight to watch, and her pairing here with the dependable Ryan Reynolds is nothing short of magical.

Throw in terrific work by three actresses more than twice her age, and a brief but impressive appearance by Kevin Kline, and Definitely, Maybe becomes a solid choice for at-home viewing.

There is an engaging element of mystery as Abigail’s character Maya tries to pick her mother out of an historical storyline narrated by her father, but the real treat here is Miss Breslin’s appealing blend of wide-eyed innocence and no nonsense curiosity.
