To ensure maximum viewing enjoyment of Hancock, don’t read, watch or listen to anything about this movie except what I am about to tell you.

I know that sounds a bit conceited, but I just don’t want any of my well-intentioned colleagues to screw up what could be a highly pleasurable movie experience by telling you too much about the plot or the characters.

I went into this film completely blind except for the general awareness that Will Smith plays an underachieving superhero that always seems to do more harm than good.

I am convinced that my ignorance actually enhanced the experience. Smith does a great job, his costars turn in nice performances as well, and the film is family-friendly except for a few mild instances of bad language.

Trust me on this one. The less you know about Hancock in advance, the more you will like it.
