Brian’s Rating
Part of my job description
involves reviewing movies that I would probably not choose for my
own personal viewing pleasure.
I’m not a fan of scary movies but I see them because many of you
are. I don’t have children, but many of you do, so I want to let you
know if certain movies are appropriate and entertaining.
And with that in mind, I’m providing this report on the animated
movie Happily Never After, produced by the makers of the two
Shrek movies.
The story is centered on the tale of Cinderella and a couple of
other fairy tales so I thought I knew what I was in for. Frankly
folks, I’m flabbergasted. This positively humorless movie is a
complete waste of time.
The voiceovers sound amateurish, even though they are provided by
the likes of Sigourney Weaver and George Carlin. The jokes fall
flat. And there is an unbelievably bad musical number.
If you are a caring parent or grandparent, do not subject your kids
to Happily Never After. It’s now out on DVD, by the way.
