NOW IN THEATERS
MAMA'S BOY
Rated PG-13
Jon Heder, Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels, Anna Faris
Brian’s Rating
Attention Jon Heder: Your fifteen minutes are up.
I loved you as the hapless nerd in Napoleon Dynamite. I was amused by
your clueless skating star in Blades of Glory. But virtually
everything else you’ve done has disappointed me and that includes your
latest, the positively unwatchable Mama’s Boy.
I know it was probably a big thrill to work with Diane Keaton, Eli Wallach
and Jeff Daniels, so I can understand that this project must have been
tempting. But weren’t you even a little worried about playing such an
unlikable ninny? A 29-year-old man still living at home with his mother? And
didn’t you notice that the script wasn’t funny?
With the release of Mama’s Boy, you’ve joined the ranks of other
once-promising cinematic disappointments like Rob Schneider and David Spade.
Maybe you could have your agent call them up and make a movie with them.
Wait a minute. You’ve already done that.
I forgot about The Benchwarmers. Never mind.
